For customers
Your rights when we contact you
If we have contacted you about an account, you have rights. This page explains them in plain language.
What we may do
- Contact you by phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email or letter about an account we have been asked to collect.
- Tell you how much is owed, who the account is with, and what your options are.
- Agree a settlement or a payment arrangement with you, and confirm it in writing.
What we may not do
- Threaten you, use abusive language, or harass you.
- Say that something will happen, such as arrest, that the law does not allow.
- Discuss your account with your employer, family or neighbours.
- Charge you fees or interest that the law does not allow.
When we may contact you
We only contact you at reasonable times. If a time does not suit you, tell us and we will note a better one.
Your right to written confirmation
You can ask us for written confirmation of the debt: who it is owed to, how much, and how that amount was worked out. We will send it to you.
Your right to dispute an amount
If you do not think you owe the amount, or any of it, tell us. We will look into it and reply in writing.
